What is the differences between Do Follow blog and No Follow blog ? The differences come when visitor make a comment to the blog.
First of all, The default in our blog is “No Follow“. It is to prevent the spammers from get backlink from our site.
“Do Follow” is one of the setting that we can change. When our blog is do follow the visitor who left the comment will get the backlink from our site. The spider search engine will crawl to our blog and follow the link that the visitors left in the comment. So the link that visitors left will be count as backlink. It is good to increase our blog PR (Page Rank).
For “No Follow” blog, the link that the commentators or the spammers left when they write comment will not get the backlinks from our blog. For the spammers its ok. But for our commentators ? They need our backlink to make their web blog in good ranking. So very sad for the commentators in “NO Follow” blog because its just only a promotion they get without a backlink from our blog. The spiders search engine will not count the link because the setting of the blog is “No Follow”
Don’t worried about the spammers. We can use SpamKarma2 plugin to protect your comment from the spammers. They will not get backlinks from our site.
So, how to change the setting to “Do Follow” blog?
- Log in to your blog cPanel.
- Find the File Manager and click.
- Find in your wordpress blog folder name wp-includes and click.
- In the wp-includes folder find default-filters.php file, right click then click to edit file.
- Find this word add_filter(’pre_comment_content’, ‘wp_rel_nofollow’, 15); and delete it all. Don’t forget to save after that.
- The second change is in comment-template.php. Find comment-template.php file, right click then click edit file.
- Then find this word nofollow or rel=’external nofollow’ and delete it all. Don’t forget to save it after that.
With the changes that you make from this setting. Your blog is now “Do Follow” blog. So the commentators that give a comment will get the backlink just like my blog.
It also can increase the commentators to comment to our blog.
