Do you know when you add the domain you buy and add it to your hosting that support add-on domain the domain can cause duplicate content penalty by google?
Example if you have add-on domain like this :
- Main Website : www.website-anda.com
- Add-on domain Website : www.add-on-website.com
Try to surf like this for your url :
- http://add-on-website.website-anda.com
If the add-on domain did not setup properly. You will get the same page as your www.add-on-website.com.
How to setup and prevent duplicate content?
1. Log in on your cPanel :
2. Find Category Domain and choose Redirects
3. Fill in your website name and your add on website name just like below :
Make sure redirect url end with slash “/” just like picture above : http://www.add-on-domain.com/ - Important.
4. Tick the “Wild Card Redirect” and click “Add”
5. Automaticly your .htaccess file will be edited.
6. Try get to your add on website again : http://add-on-website.website-anda.com. You will get redirect to your www.add-on-website.com.
That all. Prevent your add-on domain from get silly penalty by google.
